#FunFact from Down Under: Graduation season in Australia doesn’t happen in June—it rolls around in November and December, as the school year ends and summer kicks off. But Aussie students don’t need a calendar to tell them exams are coming… they’ve got jacarandas for that.Each year, these majestic purple trees bloom across cities and campuses in October and November, creating a gorgeous, Instagram-worthy carpet of flowers—and a mild sense of panic. Students know that if you haven’t started studying by the time the jacarandas bloom, you’re in trouble. Decades later, those blossoms still have the power to strike me with a wave of academic dread....
